Cloud Backup saved my laptop!

The disaster I had heard about and feared finally happened; I got the "blue screen of death" on my laptop, I could not boot Windows and the techies told me the disc had failed.

There was a whole load of data which was on my laptop hard drive (Bad practise I know, but tell me you're any different!) and I hadn't checked for several weeks when the last back up had been taken; neither had I ever done a test restore.

I admit I was getting panicky!

I called John our technical director, he gave me the login for the restore server and, within minutes, using my kids home computer, I had logged on and was looking at my familiar directory structure.

I checked a file that I knew I had amended the previous day and, to my great relief, it opened and it contained the last changes I knew I had made.

I followed the simple instructions and about 4 hours later I had a full restore sitting on the kids computer (846 mb)

This had all been happening for several months in the background and I didn't realise how safe I was!  Excellent!
